Ask Dr Bob

I get to three cups of coffee some days and still run out of energy. What can I do?

Instead of drinking coffee or relying on sugar-filled snacks, you should try foods rich in vitamins. This way you will have real energy to tackle your day.

What food will help me sleep better?

Try a complex carbohydrate before you go to bed. This will help  keep your blood sugar stable and keep you asleep.

Ask Dr Bob

How can I keep my diet full of the ingredients I need as I age, without gaining weight?

by Bob Nikkel on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 6:51:40 PM MST

The older we get the more we need protein for muscle repair and brain function. The problem is, the older we get the less we can eat without weight gain so look at amino acids to complement your diet.

Remember, it’s not so much what you eat as when you eat what you eat that can cause weight problems. Fat in the morning can fuel an active day and be used up. Fat at night will just be stored as fat.
